A table setting reminiscent of the past...

Some stories are told. Others are lived, shared, and brought back to life at the same table, passed down from generation to generation.

The story of Sen'den begins in Karaköy, one of Istanbul's oldest meeting points, inside the nearly century-old Hovagimyan Han. Designed in 1920 by architect Leon Nafilyan, this building has housed merchants, shipping companies, travelers, and the diverse cultures of Istanbul over the years. Today, while the same doors open to guests of the Hovagimyan Hotel & Suites, Sen'den offers a culinary experience reflecting this living heritage.

Because for us, the dinner table has never been just a place to eat. The dinner table is about waiting, sharing, telling stories, listening, and sometimes slowing down time a little. It's about a familiar taste bringing back a memory from years ago, about recalling a story that hasn't been told for a long time.

Sen'den combines the warmth of Turkish culinary culture with the flavors of Istanbul, where the Mediterranean meets the heart of the region.

Every dish has a story.

Sen'den's kitchen looks to the past, but doesn't live in the past.

Family recipes, familiar flavors of Istanbul, seasonal produce, and local touches are brought back to life with the interpretation of our chefs. Sometimes a family meal that has been made for years, sometimes a forgotten recipe, and sometimes just a small memory shared at the table can be the beginning of a new dish.

Therefore, your name is an invitation for us.

A recipe from you.
A memory of you.
A story from you.

Then, a little bit from us too.

Like Hovagimyan's approach of preserving the past while giving new life to the needs of the present, Sen reinterprets the familiar on today's table. Just as the building's Art Nouveau heritage and the Art Deco touches inside create a link between the past and the present, our cuisine establishes the same link through flavor.

A romantic restaurant table with dim lighting and a warm ambiance.
